Lilly Waters is loving life as the new assistant manager at the Smugglers’ Tavern in the small town of Danger Cove. So the last thing she wants or expects is an impromptu family reunion with the wannabe-rock star dad and his number-one-fan (her mother) who were noticeably absent from her childhood. Not only does Lilly have her hands full dealing with Mom and Dad who act more like teenagers than parents, but she also finds herself in hot water when the son of a Chicago mob boss is murdered on tavern property. Now Lilly's mom is the number one suspect, and Lilly isn't sure where her loyalties lie.
The search for answers leads Lilly down a dangerous path where she uncovers more suspects than she can say Thanksgiving grace over—including a tattooed trouble maker, a gambler who turned against the mob, and even her own father! All their motivations prove dirtier than her signature martinis, and if Lilly doesn't get to the truth soon, not only will dinner be ruined, but the killer may serve her up on a silver platter.

You guys!! I’m going on a Cozy Mystery spree now thanks to Nicole Leiren, Gemma Halliday Publishing, and the Danger Cove Mysteries series! As you might know, I don’t get a lot of time to read anymore so I’m ecstatic when I find an amazing book that renews my bookworm obsessions and makes me want to add more reading time to my schedule. That’s exactly what DEADLY DIRTY MARTINIS has done, and I can’t wait to have a Danger Cove reading marathon! Deadly Dirty Martinis is book number 18 (and Nicole’s second book) in the Danger Cove series (listed as a Danger Cove Cocktail Mystery) and does mention her previous book, Heroes and Hurricanes (also a Danger Cove Cocktail Mystery), but from what I could tell, doesn’t give any spoilers to the previous book, only giving a peek into what happened to share the main characters history with other characters in the story. This is the first Danger Cove book I’ve read, and they appear to be standalone stories with cameos from characters in books by other authors in the series. (If this is wrong, I’ll let you know once I read the other books.)
As for Deadly Dirty Martinis itself, this book held my attention from the first page despite being sick, doped up on cold meds, and having no energy. I loved the idea of the PLH factor and am definitely going to work that into my life as well. The main setting of this story is in a bar and involves Lilly, her employees/coworkers, and a band on tour. All things that I can relate to and loved reliving throughout the story. Fortunately for me, none of my memories involve a murder or anything close from what I can recall. I read (or listened as my ipad read) the book in one evening and can’t wait to read Nicole’s earlier contribution and the rest of the series. I’m moving to Danger Cove, y’all! Care to join me?!

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the book and are hooked on Danger Cove. It’s an awesome place to hang out ?
And you are correct, they are all stand alone and we try very hard not to give any spoilers in the stories from prior visits!
Thank YOU for getting me hooked! I’ve got several of the books, just haven’t gotten to that part of the neverending TBR list yet. They’re all moving up now! 😀
You are very welcome!! One of my other faves is the Killer Closet Case 🙂 Lilly and Bree are fast becoming friends in the Danger Cove world!
Ahh! I was going to try to read them in order, but now I might have to jump around! Making notes now. 🙂
