Sienna Harris is a girl with a plan. Her days of slaving away at Carrie’s Classic Events and More are numbered as she is on the brink of launching her own event planning company. Her relationship with Luke Price is headed in the right direction and they are approaching their one-year mark. The future is looking bright and she knows that life could not get any better . . . That is until her perfectly planned world is thrown upside down by the unexpected arrival of someone from Luke’s past.
She receives the shock of her life on the night of the biggest event of her career. Sienna will now have to pull it all together without a list or a plan. The question is, can she do it?
I’m late to the “Melissa Baldwin’s books” game and am super disappointed in myself. *sigh* I’ve had Wedding Haters on my Kindle since, ohhh, September 2015. Of course, I need to read the series in order (even though the books are written so you don’t have to) so I snagged An Event to Remember…or Forget on audiobook! Brilliant move now that I’m living about an hour from work again and have the most boring commute.
Again, smacking myself for not reading Melissa’s books sooner. She’s absolutely amazing and An Event to Remember…or Forget was an excellent listen! There were so many ways that I was able to relate to Sienna’s story. I’m a planner too. Melissa and I actually have an obsession with the same planner so I knew I’d have a new friend in Sienna. (Hello Erin Condren planners! –Save $10 with my affiliate link/shameless plug-) I believe I actually took notes on some things that Sienna does to help with my blog and business! (Thanks, Melissa!!) *End planner rambling now* The similarities didn’t end there. I recognized a few similar situations and cringed right along with Sienna and her friends.
Part of the problem with having access via Facebook to the authors you read is the ability to send them messages when you’re reading their book. I remember messaging Melissa a few times with some “grrrs” and “OMGs” and “I think I know what’s next…I hope I’m wrong!”. Her responses? Hysterical laughter via stickers and emojis. Evil author. 😉 For the record, I was both wrong and right. And OMG, I’m still worked up about parts of the book! That’s a good book. When it sticks with you for a few weeks after reading. And when you want to punch some of the characters because they’re idiots.
As for the narration, Melissa picked the perfect narrator in Katie Welburn! I’m going to have to take a peek at other titles she has lent her voice to. I’ve also got it on good authority that the Wedding Haters audiobook is in production! Can’t wait!!!
