Fairytales with a twist! Snow has successfully avoided her past for years … until now. With an evil queen bent on her destruction and a hunter bent on her seduction, she has no choice but to run. Who will find her first? S.E. Babin presents The Hunt for Snow, Book 1 of her exciting, new fantasy series, Fairytale League.

Every ten years a convention is held in a neutral location where people from all the realms come together and reunite. This is no ordinary conference, though, because everyone who shows up holds a place of honor in the legends of old. But there’s one person who doesn’t care that Earth is neutral territory. The Evil Queen, Naomi, is out to settle a score, and she’s brought along one of her most talented henchman to teach the one who got away a harsh lesson.

Snow’s past is shrouded in mystery. Mild cryptozoologist by day, private investigator by night, Snow is dead set on one thing — staying far away from the Huntsman who haunts her dreams. When she shows up to the conference with her two best friends in tow, things start going awry right away. Mere minutes after arriving, they find themselves thrust back into the world they’ve tried so hard to avoid. Now, along with the help of her friends, Snow is struggling to stay one step ahead of the queen who wants to destroy her — and the Huntsman who wants to possess her at all costs.

The hunt for Snow is on. But who will find her first?

Karan’s Comments:

I know I’ve said this before but I need to say it again. I absolutely ADORE Sheryl and her books! In the most positive way, it floors me as to how she can top her previous story but she does it. EVERY TIME!! All are phenomenal. I don’t know how she does it (ok, I do, however that post will come later in the week), but every book has references to things I love. Sometimes, I wonder if we’re the same person. Except she has 3 books published and I have 2.5 pages written of my first. 😉

So. The book. I’ve always been a fan of the fairytales. I’m also a bit of a SyFy fan. And by a bit, I mean a lot. When the SyFy channel came out with their TV mini-series, Alice, I was obsessed. I scoured stores until I found it on DVD and watched it at least once a week. Then when Once Upon a Time first aired, I was so excited. An adult version of our favorite fairytale characters?! Yeah. No. OUAT does NOT compare to THE HUNT FOR SNOW. Sheryl did the most fantastic job showing us the badass grownup versions of Snow White, Cinderella, Belle and the Huntsman. I won’t even go into the rest because every character is an awesome surprise! I’m totally picturing the series as a future mini-series similar to Alice.

I’m going to keep this short because I want you to go buy and read THE HUNT FOR SNOW right meow. Then come back and tell me two things: 1-if you can figure out a few of the references throughout the book that literally made me squeal and 2-Who your favorite THFS character is!! The first THREE people who do this will get both books in Sheryl’s backlist (Out of Practice Aphrodite and Plotting Mr. Perfect – links are my reviews) or a $5 Amazon or Barnes & Noble gift card if you already have the books.
