Abby’s major screw-up brings the wrath of Zeus upon her head. He offers her a choice – work for him or spend the rest of her days hanging out in Hades with her ex-husband. For Abby, this choice is a no-brainer, especially when Zeus says the only thing he wants her to do is make a love match.
She’s the Goddess of Love. What could go wrong?

Abby stumbles into an ex-lover, a dead demi-god and the realization that a crucial relic has been stolen right out from underneath Zeus’ nose. Eris, the Goddess of Chaos and Discord, is behind the theft and murder and the faltering powers Abby is trying to keep secret. With Zeus breathing down her neck, she’ll need to keep her wits about her as she races against the clock and Zeus’ imposed two-week time period.
Of course, this is easier said than done. Not only is she struggling with a budding attraction to a sexy lawman and feelings for long-time friend, Hermes, she’s also trying to keep everyone out of the path of a vengeful goddess while saving the Earth and Olympus from the reign of a tyrant. What’s a goddess to do when the fate of the world rests upon her fashionable shoulders?

When I was asked to review Out of Practice Aphrodite, the Mythology piece is what grabbed my attention first and if I remember correctly, I told Sheryl that when I said yes. In junior high, I was very interested in Greek Mythology and while this was a fiction novel, my curiosity has risen again and I find myself searching for my old books on the subject.

Seriously loved this book. Everything about it. The storyline, the characters, the romance, the friendships, even the “villains”, which is rare for me. Ok I might not have loved the villains but they were very well written. Gods, Goddesses, demi-Gods and mortals thrown together makes this a very fun story!

Abby/Aphrodite/Goddess of Love – totally connected with her when it came to the screw-ups and waiting for the fallout. I can’t say that I know what it feels like to have boys fight over you, but man was I happy for Abby! Keto, Zeus and Artie/Artemis were delights and great friends also. Go hit buy to read about the rest of the crew!

“If there were a handbook for goddesses, the first rule would have to be: ‘Thou shalt never awaken with a massive hangover.'”   This. So very much this.

“No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t come to terms with the ridiculously loud alarm clock mortals had invented.”   Me too, sister! I’ve never gotten along with mine!

“One does not simply show up for a meeting with Zeus.”  No comment needed.

“Things can look black in the harsh light of day, but when dusk sets, everything takes on shades of gray.”  This is something I will think of often when new ‘issues’ creep up. Thank you for this little gem!!

Sheryl, thank you so much for allowing me to read about Abby and review Out of Practice Aphrodite! I can not wait for the next in the series!!
